The tool (CLI + dashboard)

CheckApp runs on your machine. When you run a check, article text is sent over HTTPS to the third-party APIs you have configured: Copyscape for plagiarism and AI detection, Exa AI for fact-search, Parallel AI for passage extraction, and your chosen LLM provider (MiniMax, Anthropic, or OpenRouter) for reasoning. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

CheckApp stores history and reports locally at ~/.checkit/. Nothing leaves your machine beyond the API calls you make. The tool contains no telemetry and no analytics.

This website

We collect minimal anonymized analytics on page views via Vercel Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no user identification). That data is retained by Vercel per their policy and used only to see which pages get traffic.

We do not set tracking cookies. There are no third-party trackers on the site.

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, your name, email, subject, and message are sent to the creator via Resend and delivered to a personal inbox. They are not stored in any public database. We use them only to reply to your message.

GitHub star count

The live star counter on the navbar is fetched server-side from the GitHub public API. No user identifier is sent. No data about you is transmitted to GitHub.

Your rights

If you've sent a message through the contact form and want it deleted, email us and we'll remove it.
